Ken Shamrock's Signature Finishing Move

The Ankle Lock - Long before Kurt Angle made the hold his own, Ken Shamrock was the king of the Ankle Lock Submission hold. It is a relatively simple maneuver: you simply grab the ankle of your opponent, hold the rest of the leg in place (possibly by the position on the mat), and twist as hard as you can. The choice for Shamrock's opponent then became submit or have your ankle broken. Although Shamrock also lost some matches with this hold due to his temper causing him to be DQ'ed for not releasing it, it was still one of the feared holds in the WWF in the '90s.
