History: Vincent is one of those guys who went through hell and back, just to be involved in the wrestling business. The first thing I found about his career was in the AWA, where, as "Soul Train" Jones, he became one of their better wrestlers. In '87, he won the International Heavyweight Title from Big Bubba, and held it for four months before losing to Chick Donovan. He also won the Southern Tag-Team Titles with Rocky Johnson. He truly became known in the WWF, as Virgil, bodyguard of the Million Dollar Man (Ted DiBiase). A fact well-known among the wrestling world is that "Virgil" was named after Virgil Runnels (aka Dusty Rhodes), who was a major factor in WCW politics at the time. Virgil was badly treated by DiBiase, and eventually turned on him. The two had a minor feud, with Virgil usually coming up on the short end. Still, fans loved rooting for the underdog, and Virgil frequently got cheers from the audience. This was about the extent of Virgil's career in the WWF.

When Virgil came to WCW, he wrestled briefly as a jobber, then became Vincent (as in Vincent McMahon, president of the WWF) and joined the nWo as their Head of Security. Vincent had a few brief feuds with the Steiner Brothers, DiBiase, and others. Vincent again did not have much of an impact, as he was usually considered the weakest member of Hogan's nWo crew. He wrestled mainly as a jobber for the face wrestlers. When Hollywood Hogan built up the new nWo Wolfpac, Vince (shortening his name the way McMahon has) stayed with the nWo "B" Team, and tried to become the leader of the group. He feuded some with Stevie Ray and other members of the Black 'n' White. The feud was settled in a Battle Royal during a Monday Nitro, where Stevie Ray won, taking control. Vince then became a supporter of Stevie Ray, mainly staying in the background of the nWo "B" Team until the angle collapsed, sending Vince back into obscurity.

Vincent would return to the WCW scene for a brief time alongside Curt Hennig and the West Texas Rednecks, becoming "Curly Bill", then changing it to "Shane". He helped out the Rednecks until they dispersed into obscurity, then again faded from WCW, eventually being released. "Virgil" later appeared on the independent scene for a time, then faded away from the wrestling scene, going into retirement. Michael Jones still appears occassionally at legends shows, sometimes as Virgil, sometimes as Vincent. Either way, he always shows up in the fans' memories.
