History: The Renegade's career began as one of the brightest, but soon became one of the more tragic stories in professional wrestling. Williams, a former bouncer, came into the wrestling business due to a recommendation by Marty Jannetty. After wrestling in a few independents, the Renegade (basically an Ultimate Warrior lookalike) appeared at the Uncensored '95 PPV, on the side of Hulk Hogan. It was during '95 that the Renegade would gain his only gold, defeating Arn Anderson for the Television Title. He would hold it for 4 months before losing to Diamond Dallas Page.

After losing the title, the Renegade slowly faded into the background, becoming a midcarder, then a jobber. He stopped getting a push, instead being there to help others move their careers along. He wrestled this way from '96-'98, rarely getting a clean win over an opponent. The Renegade did substitute a couple of times in '98, when the Warrior made his first appearance, but he still did not make a great impact. In '99, the Renegade was said to have been released from WCW. On February 23th, 1999, Rick Williams committed suicide, shooting himself. He was 33.
