George Caiazo entered the wrestling business the way many other wrestlers seemed to find their way over: by working in a nightclub. Caiazo worked as a bouncer, earning his pay by cleaning out the riff-raff. It was here that Caiazo met former Army Ranger Perry Satullo, with Satullo having the connections to get Caiazo in the door at Killer Kowalski's wrestling academy. Caiazo and Satullo trained together, with Satullo becoming known as Perry Saturn. Caiazo, as his partner, chose the Greek equivalent of Saturn's name, becoming known as Kronus. The two would soon form a powerful tag-team, becoming the Eliminators. They struck gold first in the United States Wrestling Association, winning the USWA World Tag-Team Titles in May 1994 by beating Brian Christopher & Eddie Gilbert. The Eliminators would hold the belts against tough competition for over a month before falling to PG-13.
Their success as a tag-team soon led the Eliminators to be signed to the growing organization known as Extreme Championship Wrestling. They were joined by a new manager, Jason, giving the Eliminators some promos to go along with their devestating wrestling style. The Eliminators eventually took control of ECW's tag-team division, and won the ECW Tag-Team Titles from Mikey Whipwreck & Cactus Jack in February '96. For the next 6 months, no one could take down the Eliminators. Finally, the Gangstas, New Jack & Mustapha, took the team down in August, causing a raging feud between the two teams. In December, the Eliminators won in a big rematch, regaining their tag belts. The Gangstas & the Eliminators continued to feud into 1997, with a new team entering the battles: The Dudley Boys. In March '97, those damn Dudleys took the belts from the Eliminators, but Saturn & Kronus came back a month later, winning the titles for the third time at ECW Barely Legal. The Eliminators were running strong, but a bad injury to Saturn ended their run, with Kronus eventually losing a "Handicap" Match to the Dudley Boyz to drop the titles. A few months later, Saturn officially left ECW for World Championship Wrestling, splitting up the Eliminators.
Kronus was on his own for a few months, and he went after other gold, most notably taking on the ECW Television Champion, Taz, at ECW's Orgy of Violence. Unfortunately, Kronus was unsuccessful in singles competition, so he began looking for another partner. At the same time, former rival New Jack had broken up with his Gangsta partner, Mustapha. Surprisingly, Kronus and New Jack were able to form a bond, creating the Gangstanators tag-team. The duo was able to work together at ECW As Good As It Gets, taking down the Dudleyz and earning Kronus his fourth Tag-Team Title reign in ECW. Ultimately, the reign only lasted a month, with the Gangstanators losing to the Full-Blooded Italians in October '97. The team would stay together going into '98, but never managed to regain the gold. Kronus also tried going as a singles wrestler again, but once again, met with no success.
Kronus would make a few more appearances in other wrestling organizations, using his Hardcore status to allow for some memorable matches in Xtreme Championship Wrestling and Combat Zone Wrestling. He would never meet with the same amount of success he had in ECW, though, and retired from active wrestling in 2002. He did make a few more surprise appearances, including re-teaming with New Jack at Hardcore Homecoming I in '05, but mostly stayed away from the wrestling scene. During the summer of '07, Kronus had knee surgery, possibly due to his years in the wrestling business. On June 18th, 2007, it was announced that George Caiazo, aka John Kronus, was found dead in his girlfriend's home. Details are still forthcoming about the death of another ECW wrestler, and will be posted here when it's released.
