History: By the time Brad Armstrong became known as the man with the "Armstrong Curse", he had been around the wrestling world more than once. Armstrong started wrestling in the NWA in the early '80s, wrestling with his "father" "Bullet Bob" Armstrong. The two won the NWA Southeastern Tag-Team Titles in 1981 over Randy Rose and Dennis Condrey. They later lost it to the same team later in the year, then came back, still in 1981, and won the titles over Rose and Condrey a second time. When Bob Armstrong was injured, the titles were vacated for a time, until Brad and the Shadow (Norvell Austin) won the titles in May. When they later lost the belts, Brad and the Shadow split up, and Brad soon headed to Georgia.

With his father Bob joining him, Brad got his shot at Georgia gold after the NWA Georgia National Tag-Team titles were vacated. Brad and Bob defeated Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito for the win and the belts in November 1981. They held the titles for about 2 months before losing to the Masked Superstar and the Super Destroyer. Still wrestling in the NWA, Brad won his first singles gold by defeating Scott McGhee in July '82 to become the NWA United States Junior Heavyweight Champion. He stayed the champion for two months, until his weight interfered, vacating the title and pushing him up to the Heavyweight class.

After trying out the singles waters for a while, Brad came back to tag-team action, teaming with his brother Scott Armstrong to win the NWA Southeastern Tag-Team Titles over Midnight Express, Inc., which was Brad's 4th reign (with 3 partners). The two only held the titles for a month before losing them to Devastation Inc. in November '83. In February '84, Brad was given his first big chance, against Ted DiBiase for the NWA National Heavyweight Title (Georgia). Although the match was supposed to be between DiBiase and Mr. R, Armstrong showed up in Mr. R's mask and won the match and the title. Two months later, Armstrong lost the belt to the Spoiler. This was just the start of the two's rivalry. In May '84, Armstrong came back to beat the Spoiler for the Heavyweight belt, then lost again to him in July. Brad then proceeded to go back into the tag-team ranks and, with Tim Horner, formed the Lightning Express. The two win on to win the Georgia National Tag-Team Titles from Rip Rogers and Ted Oates in November. This did not last long, however, as Horner was badly injured, forcing the belts to be vacated, the second time this had happened to Armstrong.

In less than a month, however, Armstrong won another belt, defeating Ernie Ladd for the Mid-South North American Heavyweight title. He stayed the champion for a little over a month before losing to DiBiase. It took Brad over a year to get back into the gold picture, but when he did, he did with a bang, defeating Robert Fuller for the Continental Heavyweight Title in March '86. Soon after, however, Brad became injured, forcing him to forfeit the title (the third time in his career he had to vacate a title due to injuries). When Armstrong came back a few months later, he reclaimed the Continental Heavyweight title by beating Jerry Stubbs in June. He lost to Stubbs a month later. After briefly competing overseas in the All-Japan Junior Heavyweight Tournament (losing to Hiro Saito in the finals), Brad came back in the big third rematch to win the Continental title for a third time. He lost the title again less than a month later to Kevin Sullivan.

When Armstrong moved on to the Universal Wrestling Federation (originally the Tri-State NWA) he reformed the Lightning Express with Horner and managed to defeat Sting and Rick Steiner for the UWF World Tag-Team Titles in May '87. The two held the belts for nearly 5 months before finally losing to the Sheepherders in October. Not long afterwards, the Lighting Express again split up, and Armstrong entered a long period as a midcarder, with few title shots. He began trying various identities to build up his reputation, and eventually came to WCW as Badstreet, a member of the Fabulous Freebirds. With Jimmy Garvin and Michael Hayes, Badstreet briefly held the WCW 6-Man Tag-Team Titles in late '91, before losing to Big Josh, Tom Zenk, and Dustin Rhodes. Reverting to Brad Armstrong again, he won the WCW Light Heavyweight Title from Scotty Flamingo (Raven) in July '92. But, as had been the case during most of Armstrong's career, he again had to vacate the title due to an injury (the title was ended the same month, making Armstrong the last champion).

Armstrong recovered from his injury slowly, moving on to different organizations. For 3 days in August '95, he was the USWA Heavyweight Champion, but lost the rematch to Billy Jack Haynes. He then quickly moved on to Smoky Mountain Wrestling, beating Buddy Landel to become the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion, 5 days after losing the USWA championship. This time he was champion for 2 months before losing to Terry Gordy in October. A month later Armstrong defeated Gordy for his second reign as Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion... which lasted 2 days before losing to Tommy Rich.

Armstrong then returned to WCW. He wrestled as a mid-carder, and his career quickly went downhill. Armstrong soon adopted the Armstrong Curse, as he continuously lost match after match in WCW, falling from contention for any of the major titles. Although his brothers, Scott and Steve, started wrestling competitively as a tag-team, Brad faded out of the big picture, leaving many unsure where he was. In April '99, it was announced that he had re-signed with WCW, but he still had a few more months of training before he reappeared in the ring.

In July '99, Master P came to WCW, bringing along various bodyguards. He formed the No Limit Soldiers, along with Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr, against the West Texas Rednecks, led by Curt Hennig. Among the bodyguards was Brad Armstrong, now known as BA, in reference to his brother, a wrestler in the WWF. He started wrestling competitively, teaming with Swoll, a very large bodyguard. The two, along with Konnan and Mysterio, faced off against Hennig, Bobby Duncum Jr, Barry and Kendall Windham in an Elimination Match at the Bash at the Beach '99. Although Armstrong was eliminated by Hennig's Fisherman Suplex, his team won out when Mysterio pinned Hennig and survived. However, soon after, the No Limit Soldiers dissolved, mainly due to Master P leaving the federation.

BA Brad Armstrong tagged with Chase Tatum or Swoll for a while, but he was rarely getting any wins over opposition. Armstrong did return, however, with a brief feud with Berlyn. The fight usually got personal between the two men, with Armstrong's brothers also becoming involved. Armstrong faced Berlyn at Halloween Havoc in 1999, managing to get the pinfall victory. However, after the win, Armstrong again dropped from the limelight, and was rarely seen on WCW's shows. He had a short run as Buzzkill, but didn't get very far.
