Animal Thug entered the GCWA after a successful run in both the Fed-vs-Fed and the HWF, the two previous incarnations of the GCWA. He immediately proved that he was going to be a force in the new federation, making it all the way to the World Heavyweight Title Tournament Finals before being taken down by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Animal Thug is still remembered for his tremendous battle with Hawaiian Heat at Heat Wave, where he won his first singles title, the European Championship. Animal Thug then went on to become the third World Heavyweight Champion in GCWA history, finally stopping Phoenix's rampage through the fed. He later returned to the top by managing to work his way through President Shag-Nasty's tricks, defeating him for the belt. Animal Thug is one of only two men to have held the European Title three times. He is also remembered for his war at the first Warriors of the Ring, where he lasted until the very end despite appearing at the very beginning. Although his GCWA career was never the same after his first year with the company, Animal (Ace) Thug's abilities in the ring can never be questioned.

Garrett Jax entered the GCWA as a young star, and left it as a top veteran of the sport. Calling himself Blade, the Assassin worked his way up through many foes, becoming a student to "The Rocker" Marty Jannetty after their dramatic match for the European Championship. Jax is credited with being the man responsible for bringing the Internet Championship into the limelight, with his four-month reign with the gold. He also showed his full potential when he upset the World Heavyweight Champion, Phoenix, and earned the belt for himself. Blade's career was put in jeopardy in late '99 when a brutal attack from Shannon Shag-Nasty placed him in the hospital for months. But Blade returned from the injuries to regain his position in the GCWA, and eventually surpassed his mentor, defeating Jannetty for the Cruiserweight Championship. Blade held the Tag-Team Titles three times, more than anyone else, and he did it with three different partners. Very few wrestlers were more respected than the Assassin, who always lived up to his reputation.

Darkstarr was one of the first superstars of the GCWA. He was there at the very beginning, joining with Phoenix, Crusade, Azrael, and Pagus in the Smoke and Mirrors stable, one of the most powerful at the time. Darkstarr was the second ever Cruiserweight Champion, having a long feud with Lilpun, Shorty, and other cruiserweights. He then began trading the Intercontinental Title back and forth with Heavy P, while also battling with Phoenix against all foes. Darkstarr was one of the main opposition to the 4 Horseman invasion during the summer, and won the tag-team titles from them along with Phoenix, forming Hellfire. They would hold the belts for two months before Crescendo, the greatest wrestling moment of Darkstarr's GCWA career. While Phoenix was betrayed by Shannon Shag-Nasty, losing the tag belts, Darkstarr, then the Intercontinental Champion for the second time, faced Blade in the main event. Darkstarr won the Heavyweight Championship from Blade that night, and although his reign only lasted a few weeks, he still was a great champion. When he retired, Darkstarr had the most wins of anyone in the GCWA at the time. He truly deserves this place in the hall.

DMX truly earned the respect of his peers. The cruiserweight legend first entered the GCWA in March '99, and immediately became involved in a long feud with Dynamic Dynamite, who also entered the federation around the same time. DMX first gained recognition with the fans when he betrayed Shorty (and the Ruff Ryders) in a Handicap match, instead joining with Heavy P and the Soldierz of Style. He then began a winning streak of unprecedented proportions, destroying opponent after opponent in the Cruiserweight Division, after beating Shorty and Marty Jannetty in a Three-Way battle. DMX went on to defend the Cruiserweight Title 10 times in four months, the most anyone had ever defended a belt at that time. No one could take the man down, no matter how many cruiserweights tried. DMX later tacked on another belt, the European Title, after getting a slightly tarnished victory over Phoenix. After a few weeks of being a co-champion, DMX suddenly left the GCWA, vacating both belts. His record, and the inability of anyone to take a title from him, earned him a place in the Hall.

"The Rocker" was there at the beginning of the GCWA, known for his feud with Shawn Michaels in the HWF. Although he took a few months to gain steam, Jannetty nonetheless had a great GCWA career ahead of him. He won his first belt in May '99, earning the Cruiserweight Title when Lilpun left. He also held the European Title for a brief time, winning it after an epic clash with Blade that is still remembered today. Although constantly suffering from knee injuries, Jannetty joined with Blade and formed the Punk Rawk Club, the tag-team that went to the top of the division for a time. Jannetty's on and off relationship with Blade, and his many battles in the Cruiserweight Division with Shorty/Steven Mysterio, created his legend. Jannetty was the first man to hold the Cruiserweight strap 3 times, and was the winner of the Righteous Rumble in January '00, bringing him closer than he'd ever been to the Heavyweight Title. Although he fell to Titan 3 at Founder's Day, he was still respected for the fight he gave the man. Jannetty's many title reigns, his abilty to fight cruiserweights and heavyweights equally, and the fact that he spent more than a year in the GCWA made him a prime candidate for the Hall.

"The Star" Steven Mysterio was there at the very beginning, wrestling as Shorty and vying for the Cruiserweight Title. He was also there at the end, as part of the Righteous Rumble '01. That's how long this man's career lasted in the GCWA: from start to finish. Mysterio, whose early claim to fame was being the brother of Rey Jr, slowly built his career from the ground up, from his days with the Ruff Ryders to joining up with X-Dog in Degeneration-X. Mysterio's main push was in the Cruiserweight division, where he won the belt four times, more than anyone else in the GCWA's history. His feuds with such wrestlers as Marty Jannetty, DMX, Napalm, X-Dog, and others made him a household name to all GCWA fans. His participation in almost 80 matches, the career high in the fed, cemented his Hall-of-Fame credentials.

One of the best compliments you could give Nightmare would be that you never knew what he was going to do next. The Hardcore Legend of the GCWA first appeared on the scene at Warriors of the Ring '99, shocking "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The two, along with the Accelerator & the Iceman, had been major adversaries in another federation, and the wars between them quickly started up again. Nightmare's battles with the Accelerator lasted throughout his GCWA career. In 1999, Nightmare held the World Heavyweight Title twice, helping to stabilize the highest spot in the federation after the belt had been changing hands regularly. He also made time to earn the Hardcore Championship an unprecedented 3 times, always coming back to the division he loved the most. For five straight months (September '99 - January '00), he was involved in the Match of the Month. Nightmare's accomplishments in the GCWA will never be forgotten.

Phoenix is the first legend ever in the GCWA. The man was a holdover from the HWF, bringing in the Intercontinental Title with him. Within the next month, Phoenix would win the European Title, then defeat Steve Austin in his first defense, becoming the 2nd Heavyweight Champion of the GCWA. Phoenix, with his stable, Smoke & Mirrors, behind him, then controlled the GCWA for the next 3 months, with 8 defenses of the World Title. He finally fell to Animal Thug in a Steel Cage match, then decided to try the tag-team division for a while. He teamed with his ally Darkstarr, forming Hellfire, a team that immediately charged up the rankings and won the belts, holding them for 2 months before the belts were tricked away from them by the Bastards of Oblivion. During this time, Phoenix also returned to the top of the division for a brief time, winning over Nightmare and Blade despite being injured. The injury cost him, and he lost to Blade the next week in a great battle. For the next two months, Phoenix returned to the European division, fighting off many adversaries to become the first 3-time European Champion. Phoenix's feuds with Lilpun, the Four Horsemen, and Shag-Nasty are legendary. He'll always be remembered as the first GCWA wrestler to become immortal.

No one dominated at the end of the first run of the GCWA like Punisher did. He first had to take care of a pretender, destroying another man using the Punisher name. Punisher continued to rack up wins in his first few months with the fed, eventually fighting his way through Shannon Shag-Nasty and "The Real Deal" John Steel to win the European Title. However, Punisher opted to leave the GCWA after the win, vacating the belt, and was gone for several months. He returned in August '00 triumphantly, as a member of the Accelerator's Cartel, destroying numerous wrestlers, including injuring Outcast so badly with the Pain-Killer that he had to forfeit his match, giving Punisher the Intercontinental Title. This wasn't what Punisher wanted, though, as he demanded an opponent at Crescendo '00 to show he truly deserved the title. This, though, led to Ace's Cartel turning on Punisher, leading to a war between Punisher and his former stable. Needless to say, Punisher came out ahead, taking out Victor D'Amor, Iceman, and other allies of Ace, eventually causing Ace to leave the federation for a time! Punisher continued to be the top man of the GCWA afterwards, winning the World Heavyweight Title by beating five men in one night! Punisher would remain undefeated and the champion until Wreck The Halls, when, after massive interference from Shag-Nasty, Punisher lost the title controversially to Kevin O'Connor. Unfortunately, Punisher never got a chance to reclaim his belt before the closing of the federation in early '01. If the federation had stayed open another year, there's no telling how many more titles Punisher would have added to his resume, making him a sure bet for the Hall of Fame.

Titan 3 was truly one of the greats in the GCWA. He came into the federation without much fanfare, but soon made a name for himself as one of the strongmen for the Bastards of Oblivion. His first impact was in the Internet Title division, where he had a short feud with X-Dog and the rest of Degeneration-X while winning the strap twice. Titan 3 then shot to stardom in one night, at the Bastard's Ball. First he betrayed his long-time leader, Shannon Shag-Nasty, causing Michael Breaker to lose his Long Way Down match against Neo. Then, in the Invitation Elimination match, Titan 3 beat the long odds, finally pinning Blade at the end to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Titan 3 would then hold the belt against all comers for 5 months, the longest reign by far in the GCWA. He also had time to gain the Tag-Team straps with Andy Gilbreth. Titan 3 did not get defeated for either belt, as he was instead screwed by the Accelerator and forced out of the GCWA for a time. But Titan 3 eventually returned to get his revenge, then went on to win the Righteous Rumble '01 to gain the Tag-Team Titles just as the GCWA closed. Titan 3 truly took the GCWA by storm, and there are few individuals who can say they went one-on-one with him and came out victorious.

X-Dog, alias X-Pac & Sean Waltman, ranks up there as one of the longest-lasting wrestlers ever in the GCWA. When you consider that he wrestled in almost 70 matches in the 2 years that he was in the federation, you can see the dedication of the man. X-Dog made his first appearance after the GCWA's first pay-per-view, as a member of the Undertaker's Ministry. Soon after, X-Dog broke free of the Undertaker's influence and started on his own, working hard to grow in the federation. A few months later, X-Dog earned his first strap, teaming with Blade to gain the tag-team belts. The DX Army was a force in the GCWA, and X-Dog's Degeneration-X ties would last throughout his career. After gaining the European Title, X-Dog was given a shot against Animal Thug, the reigning World Champion. The two battled to a fierce draw, earning X-Dog a rematch. However, when Animal Thug walked from the fed, X-Dog's status allowed him to become the GCWA Heavyweight Champion. X-Dog defended the belt 3 times before vacating it, then returned a few months later to reclaim his prize in a great match with Darkstarr. After losing the strap to Nightmare, X-Dog concentrated on the other divisions, working towards his one main goal: to become the GCWA's only Circuit Champion. After many trials and tribulations, including great feuds with Marty Jannetty, Dynamic Dynamite, and others, X-Dog achieved his goal on March 26th, 2000, when he ended Nightmare's career (temporarily) at Blood on the Battlefield 2000. With the win, X-Dog gained the Intercontinental Championship, becoming the first and only wrestler to earn all 7 male belts that were available at the time. X-Dog's career can truly be looked at as one of the greatest in the GCWA's history, as he affected every division he tried out in. His place in the Hall is just one more title for him to hold.
