Comments:
No one dominated at the end of the first run of the GCWA like Punisher did. He first had to take care of a pretender, destroying another man using the Punisher name. Punisher continued to rack up wins in his first few months with the fed, eventually fighting his way through Shannon Shag-Nasty and "The Real Deal" John Steel to win the European Title. However, Punisher opted to leave the GCWA after the win, vacating the belt, and was gone for several months. He returned in August '00 triumphantly, as a member of the Accelerator's Cartel, destroying numerous wrestlers, including injuring Outcast so badly with the Pain-Killer that he had to forfeit his match, giving Punisher the Intercontinental Title. This wasn't what Punisher wanted, though, as he demanded an opponent at Crescendo '00 to show he truly deserved the title. This, though, led to Ace's Cartel turning on Punisher, leading to a war between Punisher and his former stable. Needless to say, Punisher came out ahead, taking out Victor D'Amor, Iceman, and other allies of Ace, eventually causing Ace to leave the federation for a time! Punisher continued to be the top man of the GCWA afterwards, winning the World Heavyweight Title by beating five men in one night! Punisher would remain undefeated and the champion until Wreck The Halls, when, after massive interference from Shag-Nasty, Punisher lost the title controversially to Kevin O'Connor. Unfortunately, Punisher never got a chance to reclaim his belt before the closing of the federation in early '01. If the federation had stayed open another year, there's no telling how many more titles Punisher would have added to his resume, making him a sure bet for the Hall of Fame.
